Quinta das Pedras de Baixo portrays the typical rural farmhouse of Baixo Minho, with its characteristically built set and inserted between the fields.
It is located in the parish of Longos, in the municipality of Guimarães, district of Braga, and is distant from these two cities 12 and 8 km, respectively. Being the housekeeper's house, the farmhouse was poor and represented the exemplar of rural popular architecture, clearly identifying the region where it is inserted.
Access to the farm is done from the municipal road Taipas / Braga (via Falperra), or by the original and ancestral path that passes through the west elevation of the farm.


The owner, Fernando Cardoso, is an architect who spoke on old houses that field with ingenuity to at the same time, keep the Minho rural tradition, and add them forms of modernity, with bold solutions that reflect the continuity of time.

In the original building, the old animal cuts gave rise to three units of accommodation. One of the wineries remains as such, the other gave rise to the breakfast room. Next to the old house was raised the volume of the new house, which clearly has a contemporary but sober image, both in its formal language as the finishing material, with exposed concrete. In this new volume, three bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen give comfort, autonomy and independence who lodges here.

The water, very fresh, comes directly from the mine. Vegetables for meals are harvested on time. The regional cuisine is excellent.

There are several desirable footpaths and there to live the chores and rhythms of a fifth Minho.
